Famed building gains funding for restoration

EINDHOVEN – The famed Philips Klokgebouw, part of the electronics' maker 24.5 hectare former factory complex, will receive over $3 million for restoration. Built in the 1920s, the building is a national heritage site. The government set aside nearly $240 million from surpluses on its budget to fund projects like this one. Each of the three coalition parties could direct $80 million towards projects needing funding. The Christian Democrats put it toward 23 heritage sites that badly needed restoration. The Eindhoven Philips site for decades was home for the international electronics giant.
