Dutch Muslims more inclined to emigrate since rise of Wilders

HILVERSUM – Over a third of the Moroccan and Turkish Muslims living in the Netherlands are contemplating emigration over the increasing popularity of PVV-leader Geert Wilders. Over half of these groups are thinking about it off and on, with nearly 60 percent admitting they feel less at home in the Netherlands. At the same time, over 75 percent say they feel at home in it. Forty percent acknowledges being discriminated against at times, while nearly 25 percent says this happens regularly. About 75 percent of these two groups say that they feel that the attitudes of the Dutch towards them have changed, while eighteen percent even agree with Wilders on some points. For his part, Wilders welcomes the idea that Muslims may want to leave voluntary. Muslims who observe the Dutch law, norms and values do not have to leave involuntary, observes Wilders.
